Sheep Creek Campground, Sheep Creek  Provincial Recreation Area

Grande Cache

This small campground is found in Sheep Creek Provincial Recreation Area, 25 km north of Grande Cache on Hwy. 40. Open sites are located along the Smoky River. Try your luck fishing in the river or explore informal hiking trails in the area.  The campground has a boat launch into the Smoky River.<br>Road is NOT maintained in winter.  No facility maintenance after September 5th. No firewood is provided. Water is available from a hand pump at this site. Although Alberta Parks strives to maintain water quality, we recommend that you bring your own drinking water.

This large campground is found in Sibbald Lake Provincial Recreation Area, 30 km east of Canmore on Hwy. 1, 6 km south on Hwy. 40 and 12 km east on Hwy. 68. There are over 130 sites which are suitable for RVs and tents. A nice little mountain lake where you can go canoeing, fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding or hiking.<br>Generator Free Area: “B” Loop sites 56-86Water is available from a hand pump at this site. Although Alberta Parks strives to maintain water quality, we recommend that you bring your own drinking water.

This scenic riverside campground is in Simonette River Provincial Recreation Area, 45 km east of Grande Prairie and 10 km south of Hwy. 43 on an access road. There is easy river access from the campground. It is a nice place to fish, swim, or float on the river.<br>This is a self-registration campground. Payment can be made by cash or personal cheque (payable to “Government of Alberta”). Credit cards are NOT accepted as payment.

Sir Winston Churchill Campsite is located in Sir Winston Churchill Provincial , located 5km east of Lac La Biche on Hwy. 881, and 2 km north on Provincial Park Rd. With year-round cabins the islands of this park are open to be explored summer and winter. Rentals of canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddleboards are available to discover the waters of Lac la Biche. Trails throughout the Old Growth Forest allows campers to hike and bike to all the sandy beaches.<br>Campsites are nestled among old-growth mixedwood forests.

Smoke Lake Campground is found in Smoke Lake Provincial Recreation Area, 9 km southwest of Fox Creek off Hwy. 43. There are over 45 sites suitable for both RVs and tents, with some trees for privacy. Activities include boating and fishing.<br>A discount for seniors 60 years and older is available.
