Blood Indian Park

Located 20 minutes south of Youngstown, AB, on Highway 884, Blood Indian Park offers a quiet getaway with everything your family needs. Spacious back-in and pull-through serviced sites are located near the spray park, playground, toilets, showers, and laundry facilities. A free sani-dump station is available on-site.

You’ll find random shoreline camping throughout the park, with over 250 un-serviced campsites giving you access to firepits, picnic tables, playgrounds, toilets, and garbage disposal.

Blood Indian Park is a popular fishing destination in Alberta’s grasslands. Here, anglers enjoy shoreline fishing and easy access to floating docks and boat launches. The reservoir is stocked with over 175,000 fingerling trout each year, including Brook, Brown, Rainbow, and Tiger Trout.

Power boating over 12 km/hour is not permitted, making it a paddler’s paradise with ample nature-watching opportunities. Grassland nature trails offer safe biking and hiking for campers of all ages to enjoy.

Potable water is available in the campground during the season as weather permits (generally May 1 to October 15). Outside the camping season (May 1 to December 1) unserviced rates will apply for camping in the park.

Bluerock Campground, Sheep River Provincial Park

Turner Valley

Bluerock Campground is found in Sheep River Provincial Park, 35 km west of Turner Valley on Hwy. 546. Sites are suited to both RVs and tents and are surrounded by trees. The scenic Sheep River is nearby. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails in a Rocky Mountain setting. Firewood available for purchase at manager`s site and from firewood truck.Water is available from a hand pump at this site. Although Alberta Parks strives to maintain water quality, we recommend that you bring your own drinking water.

Bluerock Equestrian Campground, Sheep River Provincial Park

Bluerock Equestrian Campground is found in Sheep River Provincial Park, 35 km west of Turner Valley on Hwy. 546. Sites are suitable for RVs and tents. The scenic Sheep River is nearby. There are hitching rails, corrals, and a loading ramp as well as access to nearby equestrian trails. Price includes fee for 2 horses; $7.00/night each additional horse.Firewood available for purchase at manager`s site and from firewood truck.Water is available from a hand pump at this site. Boulton Creek Campground is found in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, about 50 km south of Hwy. 1 on Hwy. 40 and south on Kananaskis Lakes Trail.. This pretty campground is found in Bow Valley Provincial Park, about 5 km east of Canmore on Hwy. 1. Upgrades in spring 2017 added 20 campsites. The majority of the campsites are now serviced with power. Additional upgrades are coming in spring 2018, with the addition of a comfort station, a few walk-in tenting sites and water becoming available at the power serviced sites. Brazeau River Campground, in the Brazeau River Provincial Recreation Area, is 72 km north of Nordegg on Forestry Trunk Road (Hwy. 734).
