James-Wilson Campground, James-Wilson Provincial Recreation Area

This cozy little campground is found in James-Wilson Provincial Recreation Area, 40 km west of Sundre on Forestry Trunk Road (Hwy. 734). There are around 15 spacious sites tucked into the forest between James River and Wilson Creek. Hike, fish, or access nearby OHV trails. Please keep OHVs on trailers within the recreation area.<br>Opening date subject to snow levels.Firewood sales from service vehicle.Water is available from a hand pump at this site. Although Alberta Parks strives to maintain water quality, we recommend that you bring your own drinking water.









Jarvis Bay Campground, Jarvis Bay Provincial Park
Sylvan Lake
These lakeside campground sites are suitable for tents and RVs and are surrounded by natural mixed forest. There are both unserviced and power options, and a handful of sites with a lake view (no direct access to lake). This is a great base camp, just a short drive from Sylvan Lake`s big beach and opportunities for water sports. If you stay close to camp you can hike or mountain bike on trails throughout the park.<br>Although there are a few double & triple stalls in Jarvis Bay campground, most of the campsites are large enough for only one accommodation unit & one vehicle.












Jarvis Lake Campground, William A. Switzer Provincial Park

Jarvis Lake Campground is located in William A. Switzer Provincial Park, 3 km west of Hinton on Hwy. 16, 19 km north on Hwy. 40, and a couple of km west on a paved access road. There are about 25 sites next to Jarvis Lake which are suitable for RVs and tents. A playground, trails, pier and hand launch area for boats are located here. A beach, boat launch and dock are located at the nearby day use area. Activities and amenities in the park include a Visitor Centre, beaches, boat launches, trails, interpretive programs, sani dump and showers within short driving distance.<br>Firewood is availab

This lakeside campground is in Kinbrook Island Provincial Park, 13 km south of Brooks off Hwy. 873. There are over 160 sites suitable for RVs and tents, including unserviced and powered options. The lake provides welcome relief on hot prairie days, with trees that create shady campsites. Wetlands near the campground provide excellent bird watching on an interpretive marsh trail.<br>For extended season camping (early September until early May), Kinbrook Island is first come-first served (self-registration). Find a site then put cash or cheque payment in an envelope in the self-registration vau












Kleskun Hill Campground, Kleskun Hill Natural Area

This unique spot is found in Kleskun Hill Natural Area, 30 km northeast of Grande Prairie on Hwy. 43. Camp in the northernmost badlands area in Alberta and discover the plants and wildlife of the northern grasslands. There is a collection of historical buildings here, as well as a playground and showers. Explore the surrounding walking trails and look out for cactus!<br>This campground is operated by the County of Grande Prairie.
